Strong Tomorrows with Children Project Promotes Intercultural Learning and Social Inclusion

Updated: Aug 13

The “Strong Tomorrows with Children” project, coordinated by Asociación LEGO, is being implemented in Seville, Spain, from 08–14 October 2025 under the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange programme with the reference number 2025-1-ES02-KA152-YOU-000297708. Within this framework, participants had the opportunity to closely explore local institutions while developing social awareness through intercultural interaction. The activities were designed in line with the project's objectives of supporting the social inclusion of children and encouraging young people to become active and responsible members of society.
As part of the programme, participants met with local institutions and stakeholders in Seville and delivered presentations about the project. These visits enabled young people to gain a better understanding of the working methods of local organizations, social support mechanisms for children, and the role of civil society organizations in society. At the same time, participants from different countries introduced their organizations and shared good practices from their own countries, contributing to international knowledge exchange. In this way, the dissemination of the Erasmus+ Programme, the strengthening of institutional cooperation, and the promotion of intercultural learning were actively encouraged.
A highlight of the programme was the Intercultural (Cultural) Night, where participants from Spain, Türkiye, Albania, Hungary, and Ukraine proudly showcased their traditional dances, music, food, customs, and cultural heritage. The evening created a vibrant atmosphere in which participants celebrated cultural diversity while learning about one another's traditions and values. The cultural exchange continued through activities involving children and members of the local community, who had the opportunity to interact, dance, and communicate with young people from different countries. This memorable experience helped reduce stereotypes, strengthen mutual respect and tolerance, and demonstrate how cultural diversity can build friendships and social cohesion.
Throughout the activities, participants remained at the centre of the learning process through active learning approaches. By learning through experience and participation, they not only discovered different cultures but also developed important social skills such as teamwork, communication, empathy, and solidarity. The involvement of local people further contributed to raising awareness about child protection, volunteering, and social inclusion while reinforcing the importance of community engagement.
At the end of the programme, participants took part in evaluation sessions where they reflected on their experiences and assessed their personal development. Through various evaluation methods, they shared their opinions about the activities while reviewing their own learning journey. This process strengthened their critical thinking, self-assessment, empathy, and ability to understand different perspectives.
The activities carried out during the project made a significant contribution to the project's goals of supporting children's social development, promoting volunteering and social responsibility among young people, strengthening intercultural dialogue, and encouraging a more inclusive society. Participants not only gained knowledge about different cultures but also developed a deeper understanding of solidarity, cooperation, and the importance of working together for positive social change.
