Equality March on the Streets of Seville: Fairy Tale Heroes Take to the Square!

The awareness generated through the Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange project spilled over the hotel walls and onto the streets of Seville on its fourth day! Coming together under the leadership of Asociación LEGO, youth from 5 countries met with the local public to draw attention to gender inequality in children's literature.

In the morning, participants conducted street interviews with locals in parks and squares regarding fairy tale characters. In the afternoon, the most colorful highlight of the project, the Dissemination Activity (March), began. While some participants wore Erasmus+ t-shirts, others dressed up in Snow White, Cinderella, and Rapunzel costumes and marched down to the city square. Carrying banners that read "Women don't need a prince to be saved" and "Men can also be weak and cry," the youth held a peaceful demonstration that attracted widespread interest from the locals. Anti-fairy tale booklets and bookmarks prepared for the project were distributed during the event. The day concluded with a visit to the Sevilla Girasol Association, one of the project's official stakeholders, to exchange ideas with local institutions.
